Not so good vibrations
Today while I was cutting some O1 stock with my saw in the vertical

(removing blade, removed the v-belt) I find it's the motor.

Re: Not so good vibrations
Can't help - haven't had the guts to try it in the vertical position yet
@;-) Are you saying this isn't a mounting issue?
Graciously,

Re: Not so good vibrations
Well, it could be. However, it occurs to be that something is
unbalanced to cause it to vibrate like that. Hence my wonderings. If
I were to place a rubber spacer between the motor and the casting

Gearbox Oil
Hello All,
Santa gave me a new Enco 4x6 Bandsaw for Christmas. I read all of
the past posts so I was aware of all of the tweaks required to improve
the saw. I have not checked the the Gearbox for

Re: Gearbox Oil
I topped my reservoir w/30 wt for no really good reason, but in
hindsight I'd probably have been better off draining it and using 80 wt
gear oil. I've had no problems to date, but then, it's not

Re: Gearbox Oil
The book calls for 140w which is available in any auto parts store.
Pour it slowly or you'll find it runs out and makes a big mess!

I just purchased a Grizzly 4X6 and frankly for the money I'm
impressed with the quality. Yesterday I looked at a HF 4X6 in their

Re: Bandsaw.pdf File
Hi Paul,
I think it must be your ISP. I;ve heard of others having this problem,
especially with dialup connections.
I put a copy of the file on my server. I'll leave it up there for a week

I just downloaded it here without any problem but I'm using cable rather

George,
No, I was never able to find a 23 tooth Worm Gear. Even after repeated calls
to Northern Tool. My urgency was my desire to cut stock and get started with
my mill and lathe.

Re: new saw
There were visible chunks of gunk in my gearbox.
As for lube, I use wd 40 on aluminum, helps make the cut
look "cleaner" than if not, and may cut a bit faster. On

Hello,
I have Homier 4x6 bandsaw and thoght it would be a good idea to have
