One thing I would suggest is to check the gear box for sand. This seems
to be a problem with some of these saws. Left inside, the worm and gear
will wear out prematurely. However, I checked mine and did not have this
problem. It was manufactured in Taiwan.

I think all these saws have ball bearing guides for the blade. The
difference is that some have pressed steel (or aluminum) holders for
these bearings, while other have cast iron holders.

The big advantage, that I have found, and one you have to get used to,
is cutting off the stock near the finished length of the part. With a
hacksaw, the cuts were mostly crooked so I had to leave considerable
stock to face off to be sure it would not be short.
