Re: HF 4x6

The main thing is you do not have to dread cutting metal (with a
hacksaw) anymore.

Right you are my friend, right you are. I couldn't agree with you
any more.

I don't mess with very big stock anyway(2' about max) however I am
planning on making a couple of pullies for my lathe and will need to
cut some 3 1/2 stock, and would rather have the smoother finish and
unwork-hardened surface that a torch or large chop saw would leave.

Also, I have a large(30" throat) Verticle Bandsaw purchased that I
am waiting to get moved to my shop if I decide I need to cut thick
flat or round stock.

I chose one from Rex Supply--- and cast iron blade guides. (hf has
pressed metal guides)

As far as the quality of the saw, this one came with the roller
blade guides that everyone tells me hardly ever wear out. I think as
long as I keep the machine clean, blade tight and don't try anything
stupid with it that this little saw will last me a good long time.

Sounds like 4x6 envy! 8-)

Wish I could have got my bandsaw for 99 Bucks!

There are several versions of this saw (at least 2). I looked at
the saw
from Harbor Freight and from other dealers. I chose one from Rex
Supply
because it has a heavier upper frame and cast iron blade guides.
(hf has
pressed metal guides) But I think one is about as good as the
other.
