Re: Upgraded the Group.

Twenty three years ago, I retired from the USAF, after 24 years as a mechanic, photographer, and electronics tech. Went to school for a decade to be a teacher, actually worked as a teacher's aide for 5 years, a teacher for 3, before health problems killed that career, though it took another 4 years to realize it was dead. 2.5 years as an unskilled laborer, then 5 and change as a mechanic & tech, and then forced retirement due to Covid 19. Metalworking as a hobby, since I was a kid, and yahoo groups, and then groups.io,? kept me as same as I've ever been. I have been broke a lot in between retirements.? I had kids that kept wanting me to feed, clothe, and shelter them. And I'm broke again, though it should be temporary.?Groups like this gave/give me a way to help myself while helping others.? Some times you can't even help yourself, and an escape from that for even a few minutes a day can keep you going. And being able to help someone else, even if you can't help yourself, can keep you going long enough to get through the rough patches. I had a bunch of folks help me, some of them by letting me help them a bit. Someone to talk out a problem with, sometimes, is all a guy needs to figure out what to try next. Even if it doesn't solve all the problem. Do you know how to eat an elephant? Take one bite at a time. And keep biting until it's gone.

Sometimes solving one tiny little problem will help you figure out? a way to solve another. Solve enough problems, and suddenly things are good again. When you can hold up your head and look around, you'll probably find someone else in the boat you're in now. Helping them, even it it's just by listening, but especially if you can help them solve one of their problems, will help you too.?

I was dumb enough to accept when Joe offered to make me an owner of the group. ;) Enough people have said they'd kick in $5 to keep the group going, and have more space, that I've gone ahead and upgraded. I fronted the $220 (not $200 as I thought it was) for the upgrade. Once my payment processes, we'll have 20gb of space for documents, photos, and attachments. If you want to help me out, my PayPal address is wmrmeyers@...?I can afford to pay $5, myself, so I need 43 donations of $5 via PayPal Friends and Family, or enough to cover the fees they charge if you don't want to do F&F. This gives us a year we don't have to worry too much about this, at least!
