First question. My be what type or brand saw are you working on ?? If it's a harbor freight.? " I " would think? about another saw. And keep old one for spare parts .? Then you can tear into the old one as much as you like. Gears maybe an adventure finding
and replacing .? But I am an excellent tearer downer, just lack the super powers sometimes to get all the parts back in the box.

I need to replace the gears, who knew you were supposed to check the oil level?
Where do I start Amazon has gears but they do not appear to be the exact same size.
But the shaft appears to be the same size.
How do I remove the gears? Do I drive the shaft out? Which way?
Needing lots of help.
