99.9% of the time I cut dry. ?I typically only cut mild steel and aluminum. ?Largest solid i've ever cut was ~5" round mild steel - no coolant (pull up a chair, it will take a while). ?
I only use Bi-metal blades, which are definitely worth the extra cost. ?The blades last quite a while if you match the TPI to the materials being cut and set up your down feed pressure/speed correctly. ?I've never seen a blade life comparison of dry vs. lubricated cutting. ?However, when using the saw properly, I feel I easily get my moneys worth out of the blades without ?the added mess of lubrication. ?
