Long post about the Disney Candlelight Ceremony
开云体育Hello, We talked about this ceremony in Bits Chat last night and I was asked to put information about it on this list for those who may want to listen to the ceremony which is live streamed and available on Youtube. As a Disney Retiree, I’ve sung in 17 ceremonies as of this year. ? Today December 8 2024 is the second and final day of our Disneyland Candlelight Choir Ceremony. I think Disney World's continues for the rest of December. The Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony began in 1958 and was an opportunity for Walt Disney to Thank all the various companies who supported Disneyland. Today, The choirs all process down Main Street holding electric candles and we sing Christmas Carols as we walk by the assembled audience. The Church, School and Community choirs numbering around 500 people stand on Riser around Main Street. The Disney Choir stand up in the Christmas tree on risers and I'm proud to have been a Disney Choir member for my 17th Candlelight Ceremony this year even as a retiree!!! We sing with a full Orchestr and a Hand Bell Choir.? Our narrator is usually someone from television or movies and believe me over the 66 years of the Ceremony, we've had all of the super-stars from those media. The narrator brings the Christmas Story alive each year during the four shows. Two of them are on the first Saturday in December and two on Sunday.? People gather four and five hours before the shows just to get a good seat which is free with your park ticket for that date. If? you want to hear examples of the Ceremony, visit Youtube.com and search for 2024 Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony. You can find Disney World's up there as well. Usually the full live streams are up there for both nights. Candlelight is a ceremony I look forward to each December and as long as I can walk and sing, I'll be up there in the Disney Candlelight choir. ? |
