Transcription Disc Marketplace Auction

?Starting on September 16th 2023

Closing: September 30th, at 12:00 pm PST

Hello Fellow Collectors,

For the second auction of the year, we continue with the Electro-Vox Archive Collection.

Now that I bought a reel-to-reel machine that can accommodate the large 15 ips 10¡± reels from the archive I have discovered many interesting and rare radio programs and excerpts from the Bob Hope material, both radio shows and private recordings. Most of these are at 7 ? IPS on large reels.

There will be a small section of tapes made from Electro-Vox¡¯s old recordings of various radio programs. The good news is that all will have a $5.00 minimum. bid

As there are no labels to picture so I¡¯ll instead post some audio clips on both Transcription Disc Marketplace and Radio Transcription Discs Groups in the next few days.

?

Attention:

About the condition of the tapes.

I have personally gone through and made sure that they ran through my tape recorder. I had to repair many tape splices and was able to make a complete pass through the tape player. There was shedding, gummy tape heads and bad splices. And some damage to the beginnings or ends of tapes as they have print through from tape sticking together. Many cue-tips and head cleaner after almost every tape. But all in all, it was worth the effort.

?I cannot guarantee that splices will hold.

Also, most of the recordings were stored on NAB cores and do not have reels. So that¡¯s the way you¡¯ll be receiving them. On the bright side, if you win shipping will be a lot cheaper without the reels.

?So, what you¡¯re buying are ¡°as¨Cis¡± and are not returnable.

?

Did you know that if you have discs to sell you can use Transcription Disc Marketplace for that purpose? Or trading? Asking a question?

Minimum Bids:

You will see the minimums listed at the very end of the description of the item. Make sure your bid reflects this or it will be dismissed.

An example:
Review the listing and decide that you are willing to make the minimum
bid.? Let¡¯s say the minimum bid is $5.00, you submit a bid of $20.00. If
no one else bids on this disc, you would win the item if you met or
surpassed the minimum bid price. If someone else bids $15.00, you will
win it for $16.00 since your maximum bid exceeded that of the other
person. (Bids are calculated in increments of one dollar over the last
bid.) However, if a third bidder submits a maximum bid of $25.00, they will win the
auction at $21.00 since their maximum bid exceeded your bid.
In the case of a tie - for example, two persons submit a maximum bid
of $20.00 on the same disc - the bid which was received first will win the disc.
Unless noted, all discs are 16" in diameter unless otherwise noted,
and only playable on equipment capable of accommodating discs of this size.
Some discs are vertically recorded and you will need to adjust your
system to accommodate this. All discs are in very good playable
condition or better.

Any specific defects are noted in the individual listings.

To help you make better decisions on this list, I will be using the
following?grading chart, with all grading done visually:

New = New minus - almost no surface wear and no other problems except
maybe minor scuffs

EXC = Excellent - light surface wear and minimal small scratches,
perhaps a few more scuffs

VG = Very Good - scratches, more scuffing, and needle wear, but still
acceptable.

G = Good - worn with a few needle digs, playable, needle wear very
heavy, much more scuffing.

Plus or minus after the grade is just telling you that the recording
is either in better or poorer condition. All other grading notation
will be listed after the grade.
Example: (warped)

We're sorry, but aside from the information contained in these
listings, we are unable to provide any specific content information
for any of the discs being offered.

No emails will be considered or accepted?after the auction has closed.

All of the offers we receive will be acknowledged via return e-mail,
usually on the same day that they are received. If you do not receive
an acknowledgement of your offers within 48 hours, please resubmit them.

?

To maintain your privacy, the Transcription Disc Marketplace will not disclose the names of winning bidders, or the final price realized for any individual item or group of items.

Mailing Your Auction Wins:
All auction wins will be shipped anywhere within the continental US via USPS Media Mail at the flat rate of $8.00 for the first disc and.50 cents for each additional?
record after that.

International shipping will be quoted to the winner based on the postal company they request.?
Usually, USPS:? First Class or Priority mail

Priority International mail is the common overall method, but more expensive shipping methods might be required because of the history of the country shipped to. You hear that Italy!

Discs will be mailed shortly after payment is received usually within 5-7 business days.

Transcription Disc Marketplace reserves the right to accept or reject any bid at our discretion, as well as to withdraw any item or items from this auction without notice.

California residents will be charged sales tax, as required by law

Returns and Questions:

Due to the rare and often one-of-a-kind nature of the discs being offered, no returns will be accepted. Thus, we welcome and encourage you to ask any questions you may have via e-mail in advance of bidding, mailed to:
