Did the Rochdale to Ribblehead Dalesrail today so I could tick off Settle station. While there I took advantage of the chance to visit the Signal box at the end of the Leeds Bound Platform. Well worth it if Signal boxes are your thing!! The two guys in there took there time to show Joe Normal how absolute block works with bell codes and the other bits of kit pulling the levers actually activated a proper Signal on a post right outside the box and you get the feeling for what it really like to pull a signal off. Also interesting history of the box all over the walls and work they did to restore the box. Pics to follow poss Tomorrow or Monday. Box open 10am - 4pm Sat worth a visit?
