OK, first things first. I am using an FT-891 and saving for a 991a. The only thing I have to compare to is FLRig. With that said, I really like the graphical layout of YCAT & the analog gauges. What I don't like so far (still evaluating, but I have purchased) is my mouse wheel doesn't work on all sliders and Mouse wheel over frequency only moves the frequency 100 Hz regardless of what number (kHz, MHz) my mouse pointer is over at the time. My apologies but in FLRig (again the only thing I can compare to) allows hovering over any number and scrolling to adjust that number. I hope that my ramblings make sense. Thank you so far I am liking this very much. Also, is there a way to set "clicking on a band" to a specific frequency? as an example, I like to "spin the dial" and and so it would be helpful, to me at least, to click the 40M button and have it come in @ 7.175 (the beginning of my general privileges). Greetings... With V 1.1.5.3, am able to establish comms between the Yaesu and YCAT, however, the connection and synchronization with third party software (Log4OM, SDRConsole) does not yet work here. I'm running the evaluation copy on Windows 10 and the radio is Yaesu FT-891. The GPS USB unit works well and YCAT populates my GRID information also LAT and LON automatically. When I select the radial box "Sync GPS to PC" an error message is presented in the logs window: " ... Failed GPS to PC Sync". Looking for advice. Eduardo

Good program and I am enjoying it! While in the evaluation copy (day 1) - I explored the messages tab since I do have 5 pre-recorded messages in FT-891. So I proceeded to create labels for each one of them. I closed the program to look into a code in flrig and later opened YCAT again. All custom labels were back to default: message1, message2.. et cetera. Is this normal because I am running an evaluation copy? Please advise. Eduardo

I got YCAT (on Windows 10) to read my radio memory. Loaded fine into YCAT from my FT-891. I also saved the file from YCAT. After closing and re-opening the program, all memories in YCAT were blank again. I then loaded them from the file I previously saved. Is this expected behavior?

Using the same PC, VirtCom11,cables,etc that has been working with HRD, I cannot get YCAT and the FT-891 to communicate. Because HRD is often flaky, I have learned the 'full reset' of the communications chain. Com 11 is shown Active in the Status Bar, it is shown Opened in the Communications log. The YCAT program main screen has no data (except the normal 00000 stuff) I'll find some time to get back to it, but thought a quick post might elicit a response to a common user problem and solution Glenn KG7IL

THOROUGHLY CONFUSED... Have been working with YCAT for over a month now with no issues. My trial expired so I bought the license. After the usual installation process, the software refuses to talk to the radio. COM Port, baud rate, etc. are properly set. My Win4Yaesu installation works perfectly telling me that the connectivity is good. When I set the COM Port Baud Rate and Flow Control in YCAT, the letters/numbers are a bright shade of white while the Reset button is greyed out. If I close and restart YCAT, the settings entered revert to the default. How do I fix that? In starting/restarting several times, the words "Yaesu" and "FT891:Inactive" appear randomly at the bottom left of the screen. Is the software supposed to Auto Detect the radio type? Don't get me wrong; I really like the software. Just confused what happened between trial version and licensed version. Thanks for any assistance, Steve KH6CT

Greetings... Have a couple questions regarding connectivity between YCAT, SDRConsole and Log4OM. Currently running Win4Yaesu, SDRConsole and Log4OM. I can QSY on any of the three and the other two will follow. Goal is to get YCAT to follow changes in the other two support programs. I have com0com, Omnirig, as well as other virtual comport pair managing software. Two unused virtual comport pairs have already been made. I've read and followed the "Technical Bulletin re Configuring YCAT for WJST-X via Virtual Serial Cable", but no success.
