Re: Updated Dispatch #50

It is so much easier to do something like this via pdf, I would have never resent a physical product & would have had to have a larger than usual errata box in #51 because of it.

Glad you got the updated version, Thanks again & enjoy! Vic.

Updated Dispatch #50

Updated Dispatch #50

Hello everyone, Vic from Dispatches from the Bunker here.

After Dispatch #50 went out a couple weeks ago Carl Nogueira discovered a calculation in his article had been typoed & entered wrong & the result was it carried into other parts of the article, making several?pages that needed to be fixed.?Carl does great work & worked hard on the article & then how to fix this.

This looked like more than just mentioning the problem in an errata box & was screwing up an otherwise awesome article on the Dinant HASL.. ?

So I decided the best course was fixing Carl's edits & update the article & resending the issue, which is easy in pdf.

We also added an SSR onto the RO scenario from Andy, ?defining the 8+1 which is in VotG but not the standard rules.?

So bottom line is I am sending a revised & updated copy of #50, see attached in your e-mail if still a subscriber.?

We proof these newsletters for 2 or 3 weeks & still stuff can leak through, most of the time the errata box is enough to take care of it, this I felt was not & needed more. We do are best but are human.

So enjoy the updated copy & delete the original so as not to get confused.

Thanks again for your understanding, interest & continued support, it is much appreciated.

Take care & Enjoy! Be safe & well, Vic.

All things change - hello to all on the new Newsgroup :)

Re: What have you been playing lately?

A mix of ASLSK and ASL. About 1/2 thru Storming the Station - nasty slugfest.

Re: message moderation

Unmoderated???????? Yes!!!!! Grin, Grin, Grin.

This is like giving a high school kid the keys to a new Corvette, a 1.5 liter bottle of Jack, $100 bill and a date with the varsity cheerleader who is known to put out in fast cars after a few swigs of Jack and Coke.

Thanks Chuck!

message moderation

As an FYI, groups.io forces you to pick an anti-SPAM setting that requires moderation of the first message that someone posts.? I'll be doing my best to stay on top of it so messages aren't delayed.? If you DO see a delay, it's likely because I just haven't bumped it along yet.

I can also tag members so they will not be moderated at all.? I'll be doing that regularly until we get up to speed as well.

Best,
Chuck

Re: What have you been playing lately?

With myself. That really didn't come out right.

I have refreshed my rule knowledge on some games - Fire in the Lake, Stalingrad and D-Day. I have been filling out my collection of games (my wife is threatening to sell them because I have been playing lately) and picked up some NOS Panzer Leader and Squad Leader and some solitaire games. I am looking at setting up Sherman Leader, D-Day Dice and a recent Kickstarter press your luck game Fond du Loc.

I have some Tide of Iron and Flames of War figures I could paint.

What I realize that I miss is the musty smell of Joe's basement, Ralph's sense of humor, the good natured kibitzing, Larry always playing a European country that gets destroyed in two turns from German overrun and Joe getting pissed off after six consecutive shit rolls.

Regards,

Cole

Re: What have you been playing lately?

In addition to playing Bob "Kedge" Johnson in PTO as he is nurturing me through the intricacies of that part of the war, I've been mentoring a fella in ASL SK. He's from France and we just kicked off our 2nd game in ASL SK 3. So he's learning tanks and we incorporate full rules ASL stuff from time to time.??

Been doing some other gaming, too.? Just went a perfect?0-3 at ASLOK (Virtual).? 1 game I was spanked, the other two went to the wire and they were all fantastic matches.? But I soothed my ego after the fact in winning Hunters from the Sky.??

Now, as I think of it, for Kedge: How about BFP 57 "Last Drop"?? What better than a Japanese parachute assault on a US Airstrip?

I've had my heart in Stalingrad as of late.? On VASL I am running an RB CG 1 that just started, RO CG 1 that literally JUST started last night and I've got a VotG CG running in person with Andy.

Love this game Moonpie!

I’m playing SK PTO with Bruce and another friend while getting back into full ASL playing Paratrooper scenarios with a couple other guys.
