I’m fascinated myself that my kids seem clearer on the need for social responsibility than a lot of adults.? Observationally (which makes it utterly anecdotal) I’ve noticed that there are certain age groups that seem less inclined to wear masks and be careful, at least where I am, and it doesn’t seem to be the young adults who are the culprits. ? I wish everyone would be responsible so we could all, as a society, cope with this whole mess more effectively. ? Melisande ? ?

I keep having flashbacks to Sister Jean the sophomore history teacher who would swing her arms side to side to demonstrate the limit of freedom?was when her fingers hit or touched someone else. She was otherwise crazy (she insisted it had to be the War Between the States because "war is never civil") but she was right about that.

I know someone on Ravelry who insists that all face masks make her claustrophobic so she doesn’t wear one.? She lives in Utah and is a biologist so she should know better, but I have managed to refrain from suggesting something like a face shield to at least give a tiny bit of protection to others. ? I also refrained from saying something to someone I know who was wearing a bandanna mask (which apparently are second from the bottom in effectiveness) today because I know her well enough to know I wasn’t going to win the argument. ? Speaking of masks and effectiveness, does anyone have good data lately about 2 layers vs 3 for cloth masks?? I’m not going to use something like Filti that I know several of you have used because I need to make sure whatever it is can tolerate frequent laundering, but I could go back to adding a layer of nonwoven interfacing as I originally had been before I read a scientific publication that said that two layers of quilting cotton were good. ? As the bloke here who is dealing with almost continuous skin treatment programme. So far, no melanomas, but their precursors squamous cell carcinomas have started making an appearance & I am being proactive.
Regardless - I am a supporter of programmes like Breast Cancer Month. I love my female friends (who are the most likely to contract this) & I want them to die in their sleep of old age, not some painful & insidious disease. It's no different from women being there in support for prostrate cancer in November.
