开云体育Good luck Connie! ? I’m currently on the other side of this divide.? Having sold my house in April, I’ve been on the lookout for the perfect house in my next location and it found me a couple of weeks ago.? I lost it to someone else, but when that deal fell apart, the seller came back to mine last Friday and now I’m in a whirlwind of making that happen. ? ? Seller wants to close quickly, so while I’m going to be quite house poor for a while with my rental, I do have dreams of decamping to the shore for the second half of the summer when Arielle doesn’t have to be here for school.? 开云体育I don’t know that it’s worth the effort to save, actually. I have a bunch of pin drafted roving that I can spin for laceweight white yarn.Plus… several months ago I received an enormous box from my friend who recently moved north to outside of Spokane. Turns out she has made friends with a local farmer - and, spur of the moment, sent me an unwashed Rambouillet fleece. As I just cannot deal with unwashed fleece (no means to clean and they set off my allergies something fierce) I immediately sealed it back up in the box and shipped it off to Battenkill Fibers in upstate NY for processing. Sometime (they are very backed up) that 8 pounds of fleece will be coming back - I’m guessing I’ll have 4 to 5 pounds of pin drafted roving. I’m hoping to sell some of it to make back some of the cost of this present - at $70 for UPS to ship the box plus something like $30 a pound for processing, it was an expensive present! You know you’re a long-time knitter when your daughter finally decides to knit - and her first project is knit from leftover Rowan Magpie! I bought that in Toronto close to 20 years ago - and it was in the close out bin, having already been discontinued for several years. I sent DD’s girlfriend 5 pounds of yarn, and packed up another 8 pounds and sent to my BFF. That emptied one of the 30 gallon tubs. I tried to spin some washed Cormo locks yesterday that I bought after taking Judith’s class in Madrona. Facebook tells me that trip was 9 years ago - showing me a picture with the friends we no longer have. The stuff stubbornly refused to be spun - I’m guessing it’s been in stash too long. I’ll give it one more chance and then toss it. The combination of retirement, pandemic, and climate change means I really have no need of much of the wool in my stash. Other than the backyard dinners we have had, I haven’t worn any of my sweaters - and have little desire to knit more. I miss have events to dress for! I live in jeans, comfy pants and t shirts.
