Camp Kinda - Free Virtual Camp #SummerLearning

Edited

We just signed up for this camp that we learned about from a fellow 2nd grade parent. I don't know how it works and am not setting any expectations. It's free virtual camp, so we'll see how next week works out.

Starting on May 31, you’ll get a weekly email from us on Sunday with a link to the week’s activities. We’ll also let you know what supplies your kids will need over the course of the week (we’ll keep it simple, we promise) and offer a suggested family activity connected to the week’s theme, along with a few other things just for parents and caregivers.

You can review the week’s activities and decide what you’d like your kids to do when—or just share the link with them and go back to your coffee. And you can always view any previous weeks’ activities at?.

During the week, your kids will get 3-4 hours’ worth of activities each day. They’ll use the Camp Kinda website to go through them. Some will be online, like watching a short documentary, while others will be offline, like creating their own secret code system. Most will be best for kids in grades 3-8, but we’ll also offer simpler options for younger campers where appropriate. Each day’s activities are carefully curated by teachers and other experts who know how kids think and are passionate about their topic.

Camp Kinda is built to be flexible and fun, so there’s no wrong way to do it. Pick and choose activities here and there, follow the whole week’s agenda in order, do some days but not others; whatever works best for your family. Your child may not love every week’s theme, but we bet they’ll find something interesting in most of them—and even a couple hours of Camp Kinda is better than video games all day long. And who knows? Maybe they’ll discover something they’re wild about along the way.
