开云体育Nancy, I am SO relieved to know that your oars are not shabby- looking from neglect; rather, in a velveteen rabbit kind of way, they are showing the worn facade of having been so well-loved ???On Sep 16, 2024, at 12:25?PM, Anita Fabos via groups.io <anita.fabos@...> wrote:

Re: YRC Boathousekeeping -- oars and towels
Well, I'm embarrassed to say those were my oars. I had cartopped my boat to row elsewhere in the morning and came back late in the day. I was pooped. I forgot that I had just placed my oars on the floor near where I store them (where my index card clearly marks my spot) because I needed to add the covers to my grips before placing them on my rack. Once I got my boat put away, I locked up the boathouse and left, and totally forgot to attend to my oars and place them back on my rack, which is on the other side of the Maas. I'll be able to head over today and place them where they belong. So many apologies to all. Nancy PS The blades are actually not worn from any kind of neglect--I'm in the process of sanding (status now) and repainting them (to be done). YRC Boathousekeeping -- oars and towels
Yankee Rowers,? A week or two ago, someone took a number of the club towels from the boathouse? (probably to wash them). Please return them to the boathouse.? Thanks very much. Best, Ernie? |

Door Opener Works!
开云体育Hello everyone! ?We are happy to report that we now have a working remote for the garage door. It can be accessed in the lock box with the combination lock on the right side near the key pad. The combination to the box is 34-12-30. ? The remote should remind in the box at all times. Just push it to open the door and then lock the box up again. In order to close the door on your way out, you may use the button that is on the side of the door near the sign in desk. It is just slightly above the level of the desk and right along the edge of the opening. (The night side of opening when looking out of the boathouse.) The opener is wrapped in plastic to ensure it does not sustain any water damage in the event that rain gets in the lock box.? Please let me know if you have any issues with opening g the door now or if you have any questions.? Happy Rowing! ? Yankee Rowing -- Reminder: Club Boat Reservations
Yankee Rowers, Recently we've had some mix-ups regarding club boat reservations. Just a reminder: If you plan to use a club boat during one of the three early morning slots (the slot times change over time with the change in the sunrise; right now, the last slot starts at 9:30 a.m.), before rowing you need to reserve the boat on the Yankee Rowing online reservation sheet at one of the two links below. (Boats used after the listed morning time slots do not need to be reserved.)? Please read and follow the?reservation sheet instructions, and please make sure that you row in the boat that you've reserved (occasionally people who reserve one of the club boats--usually one of the four small Peinert boats--forget which boat they've reserved and take out another similar boat which someone else has reserved).? Here are the reservation sheet links: or Thanks very much. Best, Ernie? |

Row for the River event invitation for Yankee Rowers!
Jaime Caron
Hello YCR Members,? I am sending along Northampton Community Rowing's invitiation to join their fun Row for the River?on Sept 15th.? Please see the detailed description of the event on the attached flier.? NCR is inviting folks to row with them in their big boats, quads, doubles or in our own singles. They are asking?for a donation of $100 to participate as it is a fundraiser for NCR and CRC as they aim to raise $20,000. But of course, folks could donate and not participate.? After the row, YCR members are also invited to join in a celebration and boat dedication for some of NRC’s new singles at NCR.? ? Please feel free to reach out to the President of NCR Board and fellow YCR Member, Sally Linowski, if you have any questions. Also, please join in on wishing for good weather!!!? Best,?
