Sub Oscillator Problem

Hello to all

My CS 80 Sub Oscillator works fine with aftertouch but not direct.
And one of the preset selector lamps stopped working (bass) what
kind of replacement should i look for ?

The other problem i have: my CS 60 is just the opposite the Sub Oscillator works fine direct but not with aftertouch.

any clues on these matters ?

Thanks in Advance

Is there maybe somebody over here who has the complete and correct dimensions for the CS 80 stand ?

Anyone ?

There's someone in the group who researched this and found a replacement and I think sells them. Sorry - forgot the name right now but you can search old messages for bulb.

I traced this out and posted a picture that shows the schematic and board layout for the sub output here:

It looks very simple. There are 2 white wires coming off the sub board from the sub output. One goes to the TRG5 board for the sub aftertouch and the other goes straight up to the direct knobs on the front panel. Looks like a bad connection or broken wire - at least for the CS80 problem. Should be very easy to spot and fix.

I can do this in the next couple of days.

Ive got bulbs if you need them.

Thanks a lot David

I fixed the CS 60 today, i replaced IC 4 and 5 (SUB) and that solved the problem.

I also "fixed" my CS 80, i didn't mention mine has a internal Kenton midikit.
The problem was a toggle switch in the wrong position, so the levers didn't
work direct, not very bright of me i know :)
I was checking the white cables you mentioned, they where all in place, then i realized my mistake :)

If you have time for the dimensions that would be more than fantastic, thanks again for your help.

Yup. I'm the guy. I'll post a set for sale on e-bay if you want. If you're comfortable, you could just pay me via paypal and I'll try and help you with shipping.

U.S.A. shipping is $6.50. Shipping to Europe can range from $10 to $30.

I can help you with the panel bulbs. It took me years to find replacements, so I made a group buy and have been supplying bulbs to CS80 enthusiasts ever since. I have some replacement kits left if you are interested.

Regarding your sub oscillator, I can fix it for you if you live in Chicago. Or, If you know a little bit about electronics and can follow my instructions, perhaps I could walk you through the solutions.

hi there

I'm having a similar problem with my cs-60, the 'speed' on the Sub-Oscillator section does nothing at all, essentially rendering the Sub-Osc useless for modulation. Aftertouch is working great.

does this sound like the same issue you were having?
thank u!!
