IG00150, ribbon controller and levers

Hello All,

currently I am repairing a CS-80 which had a lot of problems, it was not powering up and several custom Yamaha chips where dead on serveral boards. I managed to get most of the chips but I can not find a IG00150 also known as M51620P. I need one for the Chorus, syntparts does not have them and I tried a lot of sources.? So if someone has stock please let me know.?

The ribbon controller is not working, I opened the ribbon? yersterday and found out that the spring inside is in a lot pieces. Are there replacement for these or are there other solutions to get the ribbon working again.?

Is it possible to open the control levers? Some of them are a bit noisy/scratchy.?

Thanks for all the input!
Maarten?

Here’s the instructions I used when I replaced one several years ago. Worked great.?

There is nothing very special you?need to do the ribbon spring.?
First remove the Flock or felt covering. Remove the end tags from each end from the old spring to leave the hole exsposed in the tag for the new spring. Bend the each end of the spring?(use the old?as a template)?was and insert the old tags and solder into place. Place in the ribbon caseing and rescrew the two halves back together starting one end and working your way across to the other end. Do not screw tight untill all the screws are back in and you are happy with the position of the spring. Put a curcuit tester on each end and test the action of the spring by pressing here and there along it's length (do not slide you finger along it). Once happy with that, replace the Flock covering and glue in place useing a contact adhesive.

Thank you so much for the instructions. What I am worried is damaging the felt covering. How or what did you use to pull it up? It seems very well glued in there.

John
