Getting a proper key response.
Hello, I am slowly learning to calibrate my CS80?s parameters other than pitch. One of the main issues is the proper key response. It is most visible on Electric Piano preset ( many of users have discussed this one). As I cycle through the voices pressing one key I am getting very different results. Some voices are almost silent. I would like to stress, that it is most visible on that particular preset. Others like Brass don?t have this issue. I am thinking it could be envelope or ?related problem. Initial touch is another story - some keys are clearly louder than the others but voice cycling has same proportional result everywhere. Any ideas where should I start? |
开云体育I suggest you try to replicate the EP problem in your panel and see what makes the level difference in the cycle... it could be sustain level, it could be velocity, it could be decay time, and do this for both channel 1 and 2 ---- On Sun, 27 Apr 2014 17:46:35 -0500 wrote ----

So I will share a little update to this thread so anyone who has the same problem (and is not a synth tech) can take advantage of this ( I hate to read forums when people describe a problem but when they find a solution they don't bother to post it making the thread useless to anyone in the future).
So I have noticed, that the problem was not the filter but the amp level. When I have lowered the VCA envelope level on the front panel by half, the 3rd and the 5th cards were silent with the light velocity touch on the key.? There was also a trap. I have taught, that the initial VCA env. level on the voice card must be adjusted. It was not that. The solution of the problem was actually the initial touch level on the TRG1 card. I have discovered, that it is critical for any percussive preset like Electric Piano or Guitar. I hope that it will help someone. |
