big price increase on VAX77 keyboard soon - get it now if you want one!
Hi all.
Just happened to check the Infinite Response web site () and saw that that VAX77 is going up from about $3k to $3,000 as soon as they sell out their current production run. If anyone was thinking about getting one of these (I'd love one but can't justify it at the moment) you'd be wise to order ASAP to save almost $1k! Now back to CS-80 repairs (which I'm behind on because of my day job and a nasty cold that took me out for a few days). David |
Re: CS 50 as a polyclavier cv/gate
I would take one.

Re: CS 50 as a polyclavier cv/gate
Wow! That's a lot of work. Thanks for posting it. I don't know anyone who would want it enough for all the work involved. What a lot of people want is a MIDI out board for the CS80 (and maybe 60/50) since the Kenton is only MIDI in. It would be so great to use the CS80's keyboard with velocity and poly aftertouch - and the ribbon controller - as a MIDI master keyboard.

Re: WTB: key contacts from CS-80/60/50
Hey Phil. No offense intended (thus my inclusion of smiley face after my plea for CS-50 appreciation). The 80s just gobble up so many of these cards. A CS-60 seems to me (opinion only) a more conservative swap. I know a working CS-80 is worth a lot more than a working 50 both monetarily and from a musical standpoint.... but it's still sad. CS-50s are great... and you can actually take them on the road, as I did for 20 years.... best -DT

WTB: Yamaha CS-80 "Memory 1" and "Memory 2" buttons
Mitchell Manger
Hi,
I have a Yamaha CS-80 that is missing its square "Memory 1" and "Memory 2" preset buttons/contacts. Doesanyone havethese available for purchase? I can pay up to $100 for the two, depending on condition. Alternatively, are there any other Yamaha synths or organs that used these exact buttons? I don't see them on any of the Yamaha Electone Organs that I've looked at, etc. Thank you, Mitchell Manger [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

I killed it to revive a CS-60.
I preferred a CS-50 dead and a 60 alive than the opposite. Plus all the parts I am selling will obviously allow other CSs to live longer. Will you throw stones at me ? AFAIR, the contacts in the CS80 are totally different from the other CSs
The keys are made of wood and the actuators have two "blade shaped" contacts for each keys. Don't forget the CS 80 keys have the poly aftertouch implemented Il giorno 21/set/2012, alle ore 03:47, Jared Tauben <spaceman_west@...> ha scritto: Hi Mitchell, [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
