Strange error message after antenna fell down
While I don't think that my antenna follwing down caused this but I did notice it after.
?
I am currently running YAAC beta 207(1-feb-2025)on a pi4 using digipi as a sound card and Direwolf version 1.8D that I compiled from source as the TNC.
?
I do not know if YAAC is sending out a bad packets or if the local digipeter recently started munging it.
?
I noticed the error message on the Dierwolf output.

I realized after hitting send I did not summarize the issue very well. As you can see in the message Direwolf is reporting a 'nul' character found in the information part.? I am trying to figure out where this is coming from. Thanks, Scott On Thu, Mar 6, 2025 at 8:30?AM Scott Gillins via <scott=[email protected]> wrote:

That's kind of strange. Could you privately email me your YAAC configuration (export it by File->Configure->Export to File)? It appears that there may be something broken with compressed-mode position reports.

There is a bug in YAAC in the following combination of settings:
1. The beacon is using COMPRESSED mode encoding and is configured to send station speed.
2. The station has a working GPS connected to it.
3. The beacon is configured to use GPS position (and also velocity) to generate the position, course, and speed information in the beacon packet.
?
The bug is in the encoding of speed. Compressed speed is decoded properly, but that doesn't help anyone receiving a munged compressed-mode transmission.
?
This will be fixed in the next build of YAAC. Sorry about the inconvenience.
