Call sign change

I recently received my vanity call sign and when i change it in yaac, yaac stops working, meaning that nothing i do in yaac makes it to APRS.fi. It tells me that my new call sign is invalid. When i try to update the call sign database nothing happens. I put my cal sign in and it pulls up the last holder.

You have two issues here.

The APRS-IS server passcode used to authenticate you to the backbone
is linked to your callsign. If you change your callsign, you need a new
passcode associated with the new callsign. So there is no problem there,
just you didn't finish all the redtape associated with changing your callsign.
Ah, such is vanity! :-)

Re: the FCC database: that is a snapshot the FCC takes periodically from their
Universal Licensing System. Your local copy of the DB is _only_ updated when
you explicitly pull down another snapshot, and I can't say how often the FCC
updates their snapshot for the bulk download YAAC's Callsign DB plugin uses.
This is because the Callsign DB plugin (like the rest of YAAC) is designed to
operate in an environment where Internet access is not available, so it keeps
a local copy of any data it needs.

Hope this helps.

It does, thank you very much.?
