Xpander PSU humming

 

Hi. I've an Xpander that works good, but there is some humming noise from the PSU. A little research on the net revealed that this is quite common to the Xpanders. Is there anything I can do to remove the humming, or at least make it hum more quietly? Can I replace the power transformer? If so, does anyone know where a new one can be obtained? I've the USA version. Many thanks, Mattias.

Hi yes I have the same issue. Not too bothersome but it seems to get louder over time...No biggy just a little annoying.

I have it since I buyed it new when it came out.
It?s not in the audio path.
So what ?

A custom built toroidal transformer helps if you want to make that investment.

Hi,

Same issue, I put a piece of Styrofoam between the transformer and the chassis, this reduced the noise significantly.

cool idea I'll try it. Like I say its no big deal just that my xpander is right next to me and I can hear it through my headphones...
