I have no spare time to add new functionnalities to Xplorer, but still own my beloved Xpander and use Xplorer quite often, so the software is not lost and will be still maintain to run on Windows.

I GOT IT TO WORK.

Your info and correcting some errors on my side
(yes - operator error), I was able to transfer files TO the Xpander!
Feel like a kid again.

I recently purchased a new RME interface for my computer.
Not being familiar with it, along with it's midi cable interface (very small print on the cables),
I incorrectly sent MIDI Sysex to the wrong midi ins and outs.
Once that was corrected, it all worked like a charm!

Sysex Librarian on macOS.

These programs usually have an option to pause between messages, because modern computers are so much faster than the CPU's in 80's synths. I'm using a 200ms pause. Don't know if it matters, haven't tried to find the shortest value that works.

received or IS receiving the new files.? I've been using BOME and
it shows that it is sending the sysex.? When complete, I've been scrolling through the
Xpander patches to see if any new patches were sent..
Yes, scrolling through patches is also how I check it.

Alternatively you can try the Xplorer software:
This software can send bank of single patches or single patches files, but not multipatches files.
Please check the user manual for the settings (see page 11/18):

The fuse is there to protect the rest of the circuitry, so it¡¯s unlikely anything else was damaged. If by some chance that voltage did get through, I imagine it would have caused a catastrophic failure, like frying the PSU.

What specifically are you hearing? When you play a standard patch, does each note sound pretty much the same?
They sound the same, but in a bad way.

In the extremely rare chance there was damage to the voices, it¡¯s very unlikely that all six voices would have been damaged in the same way. I suppose damage to something later down the chain like the output amps could affect to overall sound, but again that¡¯s probably unlikely.

Well, I'll have to play around with it some more, and load up factory (or other bank) patches and see how they sound.

I'll post here if it goes okay.
