I agree, but software could be used to visualize most of the settings at once or change several of them quickly by using a graphical patch map similarly to Korg Chaos Pad or readily programmed patches, for example. I also think that iPad is better for this than Korg's Pad due to higher resolution and programmability. And, you can use iPad as a MIDI "keyboard" as well as controller. This is what I have in mind, but the sound unit replaced with an Xpander/M12 as the sound source:

After the discontinued iXpander iPad App, does anybody know if there are
any better Midi App suitable for controlling Xpander available or planned?
(PS. I never got iXpander working properly! ... Was it a hoax?!)
