Friends:

House Bill 2636, assigning one F.T.E. for TAG is still alive....It's been assigned to the House Budget Committee. The chair of that committee, Wayne Scott will decide what bills will be heard by assigning them to one of the sub-committees, most likely the education and natural-resources sub-committee. You can help get this bill a hearing by calling members of that sub-committee and asking them to request that the bill be assigned to them for a hearing.

The members of that sub-committee are:

Education and Natural Resources Subcommittee

Membership:
Susan Morgan, Chair 503-986-1402
Bob Jenson 503-986-1458
Wayne Krieger 503-986-1401
Steve March 503-986-1446
Mike Schaufler 503-986-1448

If you are a constituent of Rep. Scott, it would be very helpful for you to call his office also.

House Bill 2954, which required the ODE to collect and approve TAG plans appears to have died in committee.

Fortunately, House Bill 3222 which would have eliminated the TAG mandate (with many others) also died.

House Bill 3129 which increased the credits required for High School graduation and contains the amendment we requested passed the House Chamber and has been assigned to the Senate Rules Committee which may or may not choose to hear it. If it isn't heard, it will die. If it is heard, it would have to pass the Senate chamber and be signed by the governor.

Finally, House Bill 2919 (the Expanded Options bill) appears to be in the same position as House Bill 2636--it has been assigned to the House Budget Committee and is awaiting assignment to a sub-committee by Rep. Scott.
