X-6100 and Xiegu XPA125B

I have a newbie question for the users here who have both th X-6199 and the XPA125B. I bought the X-6100 a few months ago and have been doing very well with 10 Watts but decided to treat myself to an early Christmas present, the XPA125B. With 1/2 watt in I'm getting 80 or 90 watts out or so. Its working good. My question is when I'm in bypass mode is it ok to use 10W into the amp on bypass and not cause damage to the amp? My second question and an observation, with the amp powered OFF and using 10 watts I'm not seeing but a few watts out to the antenna not the full 10W I have the X-6100 set to. Do I need to always have the amp powered on and in bypass mode to use just 10 watts?
?
Thank you in advance.

I have the same set up. I will experiment to see if I can shed some light.? ?BTW, how are you measuring the output to the antenna??

I run 10w out of the X6100 with the amplifier on, and the pa set to off with no issues. I have not tried with the amplifier turned completely off. I am sure there would be losses going through the amp when off, but I have not measured it.

I've been checking it out. At 10 Watts and the amp off it transmits 10 W.? Looking at the waterfall, I could see the signal.
I switched on the amp and switched off the PA. The amp reported ~3 Watts.? I don't think that reflects the actual power since the signal is just going through the amp. FWIW, the waterfall showed the same as when the amp was off.
I don't know that the waterfall shows the TRANSMIT power, but I really do think you are getting the full 10 W whether the amp is off or on.

I'm using my trusty MFJ 868B Big Meter. It always seems to be accurate with all my radios.
