X6100 mod: removable batteryICOM 705/ X6200 style

Robert PA1RL All Messages By This Member #6330 Hi? ? I would like to mod my X6100 in such a way that it accepts a HT-battery pack (Quansheng k5 3800 mAh, USB-C chargeable, for instance) at the back. Same thing as the X6200 or ICOM 705 already have.? ? Needed for this mod (IMHO) is a 3d printed battery-mount/connector that accepts a HT battery, etc, and can replace the original back plate/intenal batteries. It would be nice if the new 3D printeted back-plate also includes space for a small internal fan (inside airflow for efficient forced cooling). ? Now my problem: I do have some electronic skills, but don't have the skills to design this for a 3D printer ;-( but if anyone has done this already or is working on this idea: could you please share the project here? ? -- Robert

I was thinking about the same, and to get the topic moving, I'll try a blunt suggestion. What might go wrong if we just attach the wires from disconected internal battery to existing battery pack?
