This might be due to different version of base board firmware or hardware. Could you check your BB firmware version? Also - I have one idea about how to fix it. I might create updated version next week and will be appreciated if you check it.

Ok , Georgy .
?
If the updated version will be available I would like very much check it then next week .
?
Something is going ( maybe only with my X6100 ? ) completely wrong .
My X6100 has the FW APP v1.1.6 Nov.10 2022? and BASE v1.1.6 Nov.11 2022 .
All with original APP and BASE is working without any faulth`s .
A new installation of these was just new done , for to be sure all is really ok here? .
?
When FT8 is started, the FT8 app remains often in “ Wait Synch” status staying.
This happens frequently often. If it happens the X6100 must rebooted ...
Furthermore, the automatic change to the mode USB-D is often like “frozen” and must
be forcibly switched off after exiting FT8 with long press on the mode button or
sometimes closed by a complete restart of the X6100 for to come back again to the other modes .
Maybe... it would be good to have a test-patch.tgz where the mode stays in USB and does not switch to USB-D .
It seems to me that also there maybe something goes wrong with the audio routing in USB-D and therefore there is no RF output.
Because in the FW version 0.20.1 with USB mode everything worked without any problems.
?
The implemented automatic log.adi function is a very good thing .
?
Have a blessed sunday ...

The current TGZ file will not update the radio.?? I still see .20 FW.

I have tried several times with two different cards and it does not update.

Hi Georgyi,
?
?many thanks for your work. Here some preliminary comments:
?
- putting the .tgz into the DATA partition of the SD card was easy with my old Linux netbook.
- I like the new way to switch between the setup pages with the GEN/APP buttons.
- The new icons for battery and external voltage are nice.
- Updating time via an USB GPS module still works
- The new way to set filter width is very cool!
?
FT8 reception worked well, I did not test transmission yet - more time needed.
?
A hint for all who have problems with the new firmware: the X6100 seems to be very finicky when booting from a microSD card. I had the X6100 freeze randomly and other weird problems until I systematically tested different cards. Even cards from well-known manufacturers gave problems. I could not pinpoint any root cause, such as speed, size or make/fake, I simply tested until I had a card that ran without issues. I remember having similar experiences with embedded systems and SD cards at work.
?
Another tip: I use the SD card formatter from the SD Association, the manufacturer organisation for SD cards:
?
?
This should remove all old partitions, even hidden ones, and gives Rufus or Balena Etcher a clean slate to work with.
?
Again, thanks Oleg and Georgyi for your excellent work.

I don't seem to be able to receive anything with the CW decoder since the update. The stock FW is rubbish at decode for me but the 0.21 R1CBU worked very well indeed. Now I get nothing.
?
Since I don't see anyone else reporting issues wit CW decode, does anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Signal/silence detecting was changed at 0.22.0 and default CW SNR value becomes too high. You can try to decrease this parameter (3'rd page on KEY menu). Also, you can revert 0.20.1 applying patch from Oleg website () the same way you applied 0.22.0
Now I am collecting some data and hope to make detector more sensitive and noise tolerant in the next version.

Hi Georgy ...
?
Yesterday I made all new .
I took a brand-new and not cheap 32 GB Micro-SD-card .
I flashed with a new downloaded FW 0.20.0 ; then copied Your patch 0.22.0 tgz into the Data-Partition .
The X6100 works good so far with new card and FW 0.22.0? . (CW / SSB )
The only? two faulth are here with my X6100 ... that I get no or much less RF output in FT8 and the known problem with CW decoder .
Sometimes FT8 output less <1 watt ... sometimes nothing ... and sometimes - after re-booting the X6100 -
max. 1,5 watt on 40m . But never more .
?
I like to let You know that he GPS-Time update-function is working with an GPS-dongle on Host-USB-C .
The FT8 app. updated the time correct from GPS.
?
Thanks and 73 ,

The partitions are already contained in the disk image. All three are already there. If you have Win, you simply don’t see the required section. I showed you the recipe:
?

For Windows (de Jerry K6ANI):

I was able to copy the 1.20.1 Patch into the SD card, into the DATA partition on my Windows 10 laptop. It ends up that the reason I couldn't see the Data partition on Windows File Explorer was because File Explorer only shows drive partitions that have been assigned drive letters.

In Disk Management, I could see the three partitions on the 1.20.0 SD card. But the DATA partition did not have a drive letter assigned to it. I assigned a derive letter (F:) and when I rebooted, the DATA partition was there in File Explorer.

Georgy, for the next releases, may I suggest 1) be sure to bump the patch version number (0.22.1), so there's no confusion for which version of 22 we have, and 2) the Releases page of your GitHub project may be a good place to host the tgz files for download and document the changes, so everyone can easily find them.

Thanks for the great work. I noticed on the second spin of 0.22.0, the UI restarts just fine with a long press of the lock button. (/)

Yes, I believe a combination of weaker signals than usual and the SNR value was the problem. I reduced the SNR and found some stronger signals and it seems to be working again.

hi

I'm quite happy with the new firmware version. There are actually only 2 points, I have to raise:

1. FT8 TX - the power is only a bit over 2W

2. FT8 if I change the band, for example from 40-20m, the waterfall is disappearing and no synchronization is possible. After new boot of the x6100 I can change the band and it synchonizes

Had a chance today to take the x6100 out for a test on the new firmware – one thing I noticed – and I could be wrong, is that the “charging options” are nowhere to be found? I looked on the settings menu/page. I ask because I was using an external battery pack, and it sure seemed to be charging the radio. The last time I used it on the older version of R1CBU software, I’d had it set for “stealth” – that is, with an external power source connected to the radio, no charging takes place until the radio itself is powered off… anyone else seeing this?

New:

* CW tuner - shows how accurately the radio is tuned to the correspondent's frequency. I had to slightly change the signal preprocessing for the CW decoder - now it works a little differently.

* Adjusting the bandwidth for filters with one knob. I did it for CW, but did not disable it for other modes. For CW - the center of the filter always equals to the key tone.

* Low and High filters in CW mode change synchronously (central frequency remain unchanged).

* Simple level indicator in the recorder.Perhaps, will restyle/rework it in the future.

* Time sync in FT8 application. When pressed, rounds the current time on the transceiver to the nearest FT8/FT4 slot. Usage - listen to the broadcast, find a section of silence, press the button - the system time will be updated. I guess it's simpler, than trying to adjust using settings.

* ADIF log for FT8. Call signs, reports, QTH are saved. Checked import to hamlog.online, eqsl.cc, qrz.com.

* Noise reduction and Noise blanket can be assigned to f1/f2 headset buttons

* Battery icon. The charge level is calculated by voltage

* Charging icon

* Support reading transceiver ID via CAT. Should help solve the problem with some versions of Hamlib

* Display peaks on S-meter

?

Changed:

* FT8 app now uses USB-D. The sound from the microphone is not mixed into the transmission, and the transmission does not break down after using the ATU.

* The output power in the FT8 application match to the installed one. Looks like for internal signal sources the changing output power only works as a limiter (ALC threshold adjustment).

* Auto level for waterfall/spectrum is disabled during transmission. Fixed values ??are used during transmission. After the transmission is completed, the auto level is used again.

* The buttons on the left (GEN, APP, etc.) “scroll through” the corresponding button blocks of buttons below.

* Recording and playback levels in settings app are now in decibel s (default 0, range from -10 to +10).

* Switching to digital modes and back - by long pressing the SSB button. Short press for the LSB/USB or LSB-D/USB-D switch.

* In digital mode, the LSB-D/USB-D inscription changes color.

* Power meter, SWR and ALC smoothing is disabled in digital modes.

Fixed:
* Band "jump" if the transceiver is in the lower range and is tuned to the upper limit.
* Zooming spectrum doesn't affect levels.

* When changing band/A/B, the waterfall does not forget the data.

* Deleting a single entry/message now clears the table.

* Fixed some bugs with the FT8 application

* Freezes when using headset buttons (possibly my mistake, but now fixed)

* Minor stability and performance improvements

?

Also, I raised the recording level in the audio mixer that comes with SDR on linux and is used for recording, CW and FT8 decoding, etc. Initially the sound is very quiet - maybe this is a problem with my transceiver.

?

Update via patch - connect the card to the computer, and drop the tgz file into the DATA disk (for those with Linux - into the root of the DATA partition).

The transceiver will update the files on first boot.

?

UPDATE: I fixed wrong behavior when band changing works only in down direction. Looks like I can't attach new file here - so I uploaded it to the
