Preorder
Congrats. I’m very interested as well.? Price, if I may ask? 73 Bob K4RCG On Sat, Oct 23, 2021 at 07:38 Scott <scolit@...> wrote: I just preordered the X6100 tonight from HRO. I'm really not expecting it until maybe mid-November. But, I can't wait to take it on some SOTA/POTA activations. |
Tnx Scott for the info.? Looks to be a great piece of kit. If it is as much fun as my pair of G90s, it will be great. Let us know if you have any updates on delivery etc.? 73 Bob K4RCG On Fri, Oct 29, 2021 at 08:45 Scott <scolit@...> wrote: Jed - I plan to use it on POTA/SOTA activations. I bought a QRP radio for that reason to go along with my IC 705 and QCX Mini's. |
Hey Jed, No it did not come yet, nor did I hear anything from HRO that it is shipping out. Apparently a ham in Canada got theirs this week though. Scott On Fri, Nov 19, 2021, 9:16 AM jed beer <jedbeer@...> wrote: Did it come yet ? |

Sounds like us at Drake when the first TR7s were in production. Couldn’t even get one as an employee at discount. Had to wait a year some for mine.? Think I’ll have to sit this one out too. Give me time to save up the cash after the recent furnace replacement avec kitchen ceiling/leaky upstairs plumbing expenditures. ;-) Also give ‘em a chance get the bugs out & the FW stable.? |
This is from Radioddity 11-21-21 regarding my 10-28-21 purchase: ? Cheers, Jackie" |
I'm guessing Xiegu hasn't shipped anything yet. Who knows how long it will take Radioddity to turn around and ship them once they have the X6100 in the warehouse. I'm willing to wait a little longer for them to get the bugs worked out.
From Jackie @ Radioddity Support: "Thanks for reaching out to Radioddity Support! I am Jackie, and I'd be happy to assist you with this.
?
I confirm that your order is the first batch to be sent out. However, as the supplier is still testing the X6100 before it is shipped to the US warehouse, it may take until mid-December for the first batch to finally reach the US warehouse and be shipped out for you.
?
But I promise to keep up with this and send it out for you as soon as it is in stock, and you have my word on that.
?
I apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your understanding.
?
Cheers,
Jackie" |
From the?Youtube video posted last night, the review?radio is not fully?functional, so its probably a good thing that it hasnt shipped yet.?? On Tue, Nov 23, 2021 at 8:53 AM Harry <ultralight@...> wrote:

A week or two ago I tried really really hard to convince myself why I needed to order one of these X6100's. I did manage to squelch that fire and am not ordering one. Based on the Josh Nass (KI6NAZ)?YouTube video just posted a day or two ago .. for some reason the Xiegu botched roll out of the GSOC came to mind. Hope I'm wrong but it seems very poor form to have such an influencer as Josh do a review of the prelim form of the X6100 when the advanced functions could not be demonstrated. Probably a lot of hams said to themselves .. you know I'm going to wait a while longer to ensure this thing actually does what Xiegu says it will do.

Similar takeaways here - looks like a great radio with the fundamentals nailed down - for example the QSO was solid and the noise reduction seemed excellent - but this radio isn't ready. It literally checks all my boxes in terms of promised functionality and price point. So I'll be right there once I'm satisfied that the bugs are out.? De AC3K? But between his and Fred's (VE3FAL) videos, I am thinking we may be in for a GSOC-esque release as Xiegu did the same pre-release strategy. |

Noise reduction looked really good, I also saw settings for soft knee etc on the AGC which I would usually associate with eq and sound processing. There are no suppliers in the UK yet so I dont have a choice. My one takeaway from the HRCC review was that this is the first production model, and Im also reminded of how long the lab599 took to production.
