Factory reset... not working

Good evening,
?
I have been trying to connect to my X6100 via SSH, but I want a fresh clean install.?
?
When I "Factory Reset" it warns me twice, then turns off. I wait a few min 5-10, I restart it... and all my WIFI settings and password settings are still there...
?
What am I doing wrong?
?

As far as I remember, WiFi settings are not stored in the xparams.db (this table contains radio parameters), but within OS.
You can connect radio with usb cable using PuTTY (or screen under linux) and manage connections using nmcli command.

E.g.
List all saved connections - nmcli connection
Remove connection -? nmcli connection delete "NAME"

Instead of name you can copy and paste UUID (long sequence from 2nd columns, looks like 'b9d1df81-8b58-4e63-a67d-330527f8e022')
?

They are stored in your radio OS at /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections
You're better off folowing the previous advice (via USB) or creating a new working wifi connection and then go in the radio and delete the connections that you don't want to keep.

Problem I have, is that even after doing a factory reset, using userid: root, and password:123 will not allow me to login. Says denied.

If you changed the root password on the system - you have 2 variants. First - flash an old xiegu firmware. Old versions rewrite all files on the system and should reset the root password. Second - boot from SD card (using R1CBU firmware, for example), mount internal storage and remove the root password hash in the /etc/shadows ()

I would bet that Factory Reset doesn't change/restore the user passwords... Did you previously (intentionally) change the root password? Maybe try that--

I didnt set a root password, but I am also not the first owner of this radio. They may have changed it.

I am flashing it with 1.1.4 now. We will see what happens when I update that.?
