X6100 Weird SWR Action

I noticed recently that while sending CW, the X6100 SWR meter consistently reads about 1:1.1 to 1:1.2, but at the end of the sequence, it bounces to around 2.5. On slow CW, 10 wpm, it bounces on each character. I have tried a number of supplies, but the bounce is the same. My antenna is a 31'vertical with remote tuner. None of my other rigs exhibit this problem.?Anyone else observed this behavior?

Rick :

I had a similar issue when first using my X6100 portable with my Alex Loop.? On a hunch I added a common mode choke to the feedline and then it behaved normally.
So, this could be a sign of common-mode currents on your feedline.?

cheers

Michael?

Thanks Michael,
I'll give it a try.

It sounds like you may have ruled this out, but erratic behavior as you describe is almost always a feedline issue such as corrosion or loose junctions.
