I still have not purchased a spare hard drive, so I have not yet loaded my Red Hat 6.1, so I can not download a copy of Xephem. Before I order a copy for Windows '98 (does it work for ME?) and I shell

Re: Core dump on RedHat 7.2 with Jupiter/Saturn/Mars views
I dunno... I've recently upgraded from RH70 to RH72 and have run XEphem 3.4 and 3.5 under both without progblems, including the planetary views. The _only_ bug I've run into is (was?) a cosmetic bug

Re: Core dump on RedHat 7.2 with Jupiter/Saturn/Mars views

Re: How to save star data to disk
Glad you like XEphem. The net data can not be saved. Having all that data handy on your own disk is one advantage of the CD edition.

How to save star data to disk
I run XEphem 3.5 on both Debian GNU/Linux and FreeBSD. It's a really great piece of software! I was wondering, though, if I can configure it so that the GSC (etc) data I download from the Internet
