Wow. I thought they found their woman for those ring intros and looked like she was enjoying it. She was the best to ever do it and I will certainly miss the emotion and creativity of her introductions. Incredible talent and it's a huge loss for WWE. ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at LILIAN GARCIA RETURNS TO WWE FULL TIME- With Samantha Irvin's shock exit, WWE brought back Lilian Garcia full time as the new Raw ring announcer. Before the show went on the air, Raw commentator Joe Tessitore introduced Garcia back, who was visibly super thrilled to return, as fans gave her a standing ovation. She fist-bumped both Tessitore and Wade Barrett, who also gave her a standing ovation at ringside. Garcia was really nervous on her first night back, making a couple of mistakes along the way as the night went by, something she admitted in her social media message after the show ended. This is Garcia's third full-time stint with the company. She started in late 1999 and spent 10 years as the Raw ring announcer before leaving the company to pursue a singing career. She returned in 2012 for her second stint and lasted until 2016. The 58-year-old has made several appearances on WWE television since then, most recently this past May when Samantha Irvin welcomed back Garcia to Raw in South Carolina and handed her the mic to introduce one match. You can see her return before Raw started at . LILIAN GARCIA "BACK HOME"- Lilian Garcia returned to WWE last night on Raw to fill the void that Samantha Irvin left after her exit, reclaiming her spot as the Raw ring announcer. It's been eight years since Garcia has been full-time with WWE and she was really nervous in her return, something she acknowledged in a post on Instagram after the show. “And my goodness, when my music hit and I got introduced, the cheers and the applause and the roar that you gave me tonight — thank you," she said. "Thank you for that, because I was nervous. I was so nervous. I could even tell when I started announcing that I was nervous, but it is all worth it." She said that coming back to see everyone, her friends, WWE Superstars, and reuniting with crew makes her really excited and while she doesn't know where this will all lead to, she's strapping on her seat belt for the wild ride. Before closing, Garcia had some words for Samantha Irvin, calling her an extraordinary talent and unbelievable. "I know it could not have been easy to walk away from here, but I wish you all the success in your music career," she said. "I know you’re going to kill it. You’re going to kill it." Garcia ended her post saying that she's "back home." MICHAEL BUFFER SAYS HE'S SAD THAT SAMANTHA IRVIN LEFT- Perhaps the greatest and most well-known ring announcer in sports, Michael Buffer, expressed his disappointment after news came out that Samantha Irvin has decided to part ways with WWE. Buffer, who often praises Irvin for her work on his social media, wrote that he and his wife were sorry to hear the news. "Samantha is brilliant & super professional as announcer + her musical talent as a singer & flautist are amazing," Buffer wrote. "All the best to her moving forward w/her career & perhaps we’ll see her in future events including boxing & MMA," he continued. Getting praise from the GOAT of ring announcing is certainly not an easy feat to accomplish, but it shows how respected and awesome Irvin was in her role. MORE NEWS ON WHAT LED TO THE DEPARTURE OF SAMANTHA IRVIN- Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Samantha Irvin left WWE after both sides could not come to an agreement over her planned outside commitments, most notably her desire to pursue a music career. In a post on social media, Irvin corrected someone who posted that she notified WWE about her departure prior to Raw, but Irvin said she gave notice months ago and WWE knew ahead of time that she was departing the company. With her fiancee Ricochet in AEW, rumors obviously quickly popped up about she moving there with him but Ricochet was also quick to turn those rumors down. "Haha, she's not coming to AEW. You can all rest easy," he said in a post on X. While the plan is to focus on her music career, it's not written in stone that she won't go to AEW to be with her man. Meltzer also added that Irvin had been thinking about making the move for a long time and finally decided to go with it, ending her WWE career in the process. TICKETS FOR NXT AT 2300 ARENA SOLD OUT- Tickets for NXT at the 2300 Arena, formerly known as ECW Arena, for November 6 went on sale earlier today. In a heartbeat, all tickets were gone except for a handful of tickets, with the most expensive ones being ringside VIP for $550 each. Prices were $75, $175, $250, and $550. Each VIP ticket sold came with a pre-event meet and greet with WWE Hall of Famer and ECW legend Bubba Ray Dudley, a commemorative chair, and exclusive merchandise. SMACKDOWN RATING- Smackdown this past Friday drew just 1,378,000 viewers, down 274,000 viewers from the prior week, making this the least-watched Smackdown on USA Network so far. The show had a 0.42 rating in 18-49, down 0.07 from the prior week. Smackdown was #3 on cable TV among tougher competition from the MLB Playoffs and college football. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) JEY USO'S IC TITLE REIGN CUT SHORT- Jey Uso's reign as Intercontinental champion lasted only 28 days as he lost the title back to Bron Breakker last night during the main event of Raw. His loss came thanks to the interference of The Bloodline, with Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, Jacob Fatu, and Solo Sikoa all having a part in the match. After taking out both Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa with superkicks, Sikoa was furious and told him that they're only there to try and help. Bron Breakker ran around and tried to spear Uso, but he moved and Sikoa ended up taking the spear instead. Uso came close to retaining the title but Breakker kicked out of the splash and then the brothers tried to interfere again, drawing the attention of the referee and several officials. That left Jacob Fatu, who superkicked Jey's head off his shoulders as he ran around to try and spear Breakker at ringside. Fatu then hit a Samoan Drop on the table and bolted, allowing Breakker the opportunity to throw Uso back in the ring and hit his own spear for the pinfall victory. This obviously all ties to Jey slowly moving back with his brother Jimmy and cousin Roman Reigns as they go to war with the rest of their family, a war which will come to a rumored climax at Survivor Series: WarGames. RAMPAGE RATING- Rampage on Friday drew 234,000 viewers, down 19,000 viewers from the previous week. In the 18-49 demo, the show had a 0.06 rating down 0.03 from last week and the lowest of 2024 so far. It ranked #21 on the top 50 cable chart for the night. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) COLLISION RATING- Collision this past Saturday on TNT drew 346,000 viewers, up 77,000 viewers from the last show two weeks prior. There was no Collision last week. In the 18-49 demo, Collision had a 0.10 rating, up 0.05 from the prior show.
