SCAMP mode

 

code shows in /src and /src/include the new digital mode SCAMP but to use it we must compile Fldigi from source. Will a new installable Fldigi allow us to use this new communication digital mode?

Windows user here. I haven't the knowledge to lets say compile it. It'll be very interesting if we can use this mode through Fldigi, I hope soon in the future. 73
 

Hi, my scampfsk qso on mode column of LOTW displays as DATA is this ok?

You don't need to compile it. There is a test version of FLDIGI that has SCAMP modem.

All are ok, except that LOTW instead of reading SCAMPFSK displays DATA. I'm afraid that the adif format doesn't recognize some modes and among theme is scamp. 73

Unspecified digital modes are to be listed as DATA.? This is a part of the ADIF specification.

That's not an ADIF problem...that's an LOTW problem.? LOTW doesn't know about scamp.
How are you uploading to LOTW?? I just did a test with a SCAMPFSK record and TQSL complains "Invalid MODE (SCAMPFSK).."
So what you have to do in TQSL is remap the mode to DATA in File/Display or Modify Preferences in the "ADIF Modes" tab.

FLDigi should use Mode=MFSK, SubMode=SCAMPFSK to avoid having to do this and also submit SCAMPFSK to the ADIF group as a new submode for enumeration.? ADIF group went through a big harangue getting to handle this.

LOTW will remap MFSK to DATA automagically.

I use Logger32 as my logger. Don't remember if I had any errors with tqsl. Before uploading I combined scampmfsk (and ifkp) to mfsk (just like ft4). This qso uploaded and display on Lotw as DATA. In my adif file the scampmfsk displays in mode as mfsk and in? submode as scampmfsk. 73
