I just thought .... dangerous, I know, but reading the contract? does anybody read any of the T&Cs in the amateur world? Perhaps they should. Fine Print is horrible stuff, until there is a claim of some sort against one party or the other. In a case the other day where Mr A said he had a claim against a company, it is at court, the company is arguing a man cannot sue it over the death of his wife because of terms he signed up to in a free trial of the Company. ?

Please note I have not named names but this discussion is on BBC/CNN et.al.
Please also note: I am not a legal person and this is not legal advice etc.?
?
So I apologise for NOT reading the contract.

My view however is that a download button should lead to where it is expected to go. The button should not be so big or obvious thereby leading to a 'Push Me Now'. The explanation text to go and do something else, that Is follow this process, should be much earlier in the reading. (At the top).

开云体育The operation of the "DOWNLOAD" button has been a continuing conversation with sourceforge for many years...Some projects DO PROVIDE THEIR OWN WEBSITE, but also provide downloads via sourceforge both for exposure that sourceforge provides and also for user convenience. ? Please note that I am not associated with FLDIGI or with Sourceforge, just a user that is glad that both exist. I do have a relationship with sourceforge via other projects and know for a fact that the default operation of the download button has always been an issue. I also believe that sourceforge has also been asked to provide an alternate operation of the button, such as delivering a project oriented text message before they display the "Files" list, but they have refused to change what they consider to be a good default. As a result, FLDIGI has had to do the same thing other projects with multi downloadable packages have had to do, and that is to attempt to notify their users via the small print... end of discussion /s/ Bill Turner, wb4alm |
