YAESU FT-897d - FLRIG - VFOa VFOb (etc.) management
Hi all.
I have an ol' ft-897d it serves me as my only HF base station. With FLRIG plus FLDIGI I enjoy some digital mode. Very nice, very happy. Thanks to the flrig/fldigi development team!!! Nevertheless I was never able to properly manage VFOa, VFOb etcetera from FLRIG It was so with the first release I installed -- some years ago -- and it is so with the last versions (currently I have flrig 1.4.7.69 on WIN10 22H2 home edition). Is this a known problem? It is a problem of my configuration? Is there any chances to fix it? ???????? Thanks in advance for your help. ??????????????????????? 73 de IU1MRD gio' ----------------------------- (*) Some example. 1. suppose my 897 is on and vfoA is 7100 and vfoB is 7105 - vfoA 7100 is selected 2. i start flrig, on the flrig panel I see 7100 on the left and 7105 on the right there is also a button row - something like ? ?? [o vfoA][o vfoB][ A/B ][o Split] 3. I clic on? [o vfoB] button on flrig. my 897 shows vfoB 7105 ?so far so good on the flrig panel I still see 7100 on the left and 7105 on the right (by the way I will suppose the lightyellow dot on the button should pass from button vfoA to button vfoB but it is not so) 4. I clic on? [o vfoA] button on flrig. nothing happens on my 897 and apparently on flrig panel - I suppose this is a bug? my 897 still shows vfoB 7105 5. Now try to clic on [A/B] on flrig... the behaviour from here on is strange... I stop here my description for the moment... |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Gio,Yes, it sounds like you may have a bug with the VFO switching. The yellow light should follow the active VFO. Clicking back to VFOA should switch back to VFOA. Turn on Tool Tips from the flrig Config/UI dropdown list then hover over the A/B button to see what actions do what. It can be confusing if you don't know what to expect. To help Dave see what is going on with the VFO switching please: 1. with flrig running go to flrig Config/Setup/Trace and click the "Trace rig class get code" and the "Trace rig class set code" boxes. Leave that window open for now. 2. On the flrig GUI click the VFOA button then click the VFOB button then back to the VFOA button. Please also note what the yellow light does and if the rig follows the frequency changes requested by flrig. 3. Now go to the Trace page you had open earlier and uncheck the boxes. You can close that window now. 4. Go to C:\Users\<loginname>\flrig.files and get the file "trace.txt".? 5. Send the trace.txt file to me at my QRZ email address with a description of what the yellow light and the rig did as you switched VFOs back and forth. Thank you. 73,
Cliff, AE5ZA
