Re: No CW !
Cliff
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBo,Just select CW like any of the other modes. It will transmit like the other modes at the cursor frequency on the waterfall. Please post a screen shot of the entire fldigi window and tell us what radio and connection to the radio you are using, i.e. Hamlib, flrig, RigCat what ever it is. 73, Cliff, AE5ZA

No CW !
Forgive my simple memory lapse, but I cannot get CW to work with fldigi (USB-D) mode, Other modes work fine,
I tried 3 radios, 2 PCs, and the last 2 versions of fldigi.
?
All is well with N1MM & WINKEYER IN rtty & cw MODES
?
Whoops. Is it that fldigi does not do CW in thed USB-D mode?? I¡¯m aware of the other ways of doing it, including my normal way using a winkeyer.
?
Help!

Struggling with a/d interface
Hi all. I hope somebody can help me...
?
I have an FT-101, which I successfully use with WSJT-X via an M-Audio M-Track Solo and a slightly doctored rig/sound interface (basically just a couple of audio freqency transformers at this point - another story)
?
I'm trying to set up Fldigi.? I have used Fldigi in the past, but on a different radio with a different laptop, etc.
?
If I use the laptop mic, I can decode CW.? I can play an ARRL file on my phone and see the signal on the waterfall and the message decoded.? But if I try via the m-track, it's just noise (silence I think).? If open the device with Reaper I see the signal, and as stated if I use the devide with WSJT-X it works fine.? So, the problem does seem to be somewhere between the device and Fldigi.
?
I've tried downloading the latest Fldigi (4.1.22) and wiping my config and starting afresh.? I've tried changing the sample-rate and ensuring these match between the device and Fldigi config.? I've tried changing the sample depth (2ch: 32bit, 24bit and 16bit are available) and I've tried increasing the device prefered buffer size.? I've tried disabling Rx monitor, setting playback to my laptop speakers.
?
I'm not sure what else to check.? Any hints would be much appreciated.
?
(also, what does "do not flame anyone" mean? I tried googling it and just got a bunch of forum rules with no explanation. I've never come across this expression before)

Re: FLdigi won't install - ASUS laptop running Win 11
For anyone having this issue, Tobias provided a solution in another thread: use a tool like 7zip to extract the contents of the executable, then run the "actual" installer for FLdigi.
?
I did the above, and confirmed the software correctly controls the radio, just as it does on my Linux-based RPi.
?
FWIW, I had no oddball antivirus software running, and the checksum for the installer was correct so the file hadn't been altered/tampered with.
?
What a bizarre issue - just glad to have it solved and hope the thread is useful to anyone else who stumbles on it down the road. |

Hello Chris, Great that at least sometimes the unconventional workaround offers a solution. Enjoy and thanks for the feedback! 73s Tobias .-.-. Am Donnerstag, 17. Re: FLdigi won't install - ASUS laptop running Win 11
Hello Chris, Please consider the alternate way described below. Good luck! 73s SWL Tobias .-.-. Am Montag, 16. September 2024 um 14:59:44 MESZ hat <tsquare123@...> Folgendes geschrieben: Bill, Just like Rich wrote, if setup doesn't run as expected (and provided you have downloaded the correct FLdigi setup file!) it may make more sense to extract (unzip) it directly into the new folder of your choice. Then you can: 1. First verify that the setup file is complete. 2. See exactly what you put where. 3. Then run the fldigi.exe from your (new) folder and see what happens. Normally, you should be OK now. Please take a look at the attached screenshot: If you don't have/use it already, I highly recommend to download the lightweight, versatile and free 7zip archive manager from 'www.7-zip.org'. With it, you can open the setup file just like an ordinary zip file, which is what I show in the attached screenshot. Either drag the 'fldigi...setup.exe' onto '7zFM.exe' (see below) or, if you have setup 7zip this way, use the context menu (or right click) in the Explorer and then, with your FLdigi setup file selected, choose 7zip > Open archive. In 7zip, once you have the setup file opened, first click the 'test' icon to see whether the archive as such is OK. This is *not* a malw./vir. check (!), it simply tests the archive data integrity. 7zip may or may not check and find issues in the file while opening it, so this extra check is useful. The 7zip File Manager (7zFM.exe) can be setup to display 2 windows side-by-side, as shown here. There simply select all the program files and folders contained in the setup file and (if you have entered the path of the target folder on the right side, as shown here), click the 'Copy' icon and the files are extracted into your chosen folder. Alternatively, you may also drag the selection into the right window or into a separate explorer window showing the target folder. Then run FLdigi as usual and all should work as expected. From this point onward, the 7zip window is no longer needed. Notes: 1. If all looked OK so far but the FLdigi program window still does not open, consult the Windows 'Task Manager' (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and look for fldigi.exe in the 'Process' tab. If it is visible there (possibly multiple times: sort the list it by name clicking the respective header!), close all these previous instances and run FLdigi from your new folder again. 2. If FLdigi still won't open, you may try and locate existing data and settings from an (old) installation, usually in 'C:\Users\<UserName>\fldigi.files'. If this folder exists, close all fldigi instances (as described in 1.) and rename the 'fldigi.files' folder into something else, e.g. '_BACKUP_fldigi.files' (you may wish to keep it in case you still have useful data there). Then run Fldigi again - now there's no reason why it should fail. FLdigi will recreate the 'fldigi.files' folder with default values. Then copy what you still need from the _BACKUP_ into the new fldigi.files folder and you're all set. Once complete, you can remove the _BACKUP_ folder. If this method did not work either, I'm afraid I don't have an explanation or advice. 3. Should you wonder, no, not every app ('exe') can be opened this way as an archive. But the fldigi setup for Windows is compatible with this operation. Hope this helps. Good luck! And please let us know whether (and if so, how) you were successful. 73s Tobias .-.-. Am Montag, 16. Do NOT install as admin.? Uninstall and be sure to delete the "\program files\fldigi-x.x.x" directory before reinstalling.

Then rename \users\[username]\fldigi.files\fldigi.prefs and see if it will start. If that works email the fldigi.prefs file so perhaps Dave can see why it doesn't work and maybe provide a fix for that.
