[WT] CJ2A Replacement Body

Willys Overland are high dollar. However they do have the original prints.
ALL bodies come from the Philippines and are manufactured by MD Juan.
Some (most if not all) bodies from places other
than Willys Overland don't have all the holes in the correct locations. Body
mounting holes are almost always missing. The clutch / brake / accelerator
pedal holes have been found to be missing. I have heard of the dash holes
being non existent also. Willys Overland starts with a MD Juan body and
modifies them to have all the holes and in the correct location. ---- I
would call and talk to them to be sure. ----

If you plan to have a heavily modified vehicle with a modern engine and
things like an electronic dash and hanging brake/clutch pedals, don't spend
the money for a Willys Overland body. But if you have a reasonably stock
vehicle and want to position the body correctly on a stock (straight) frame,
Willys Overland is a reasonable thought.

Just a side note, someone here spent quite a bit of effort to figure out
where to put some firewall holes. They for cardboard templates etc. I think
eventually they got the hole(s) in but I'm not sure they were (are) in the
correct location. If they are not other issues may result.

Subject: [WT] CJ2A Replacement Body

Does anyone have any knowledge on the replacement bodies currently
avalible for a 47-48 CJ2A. Willys-Overland Motors claims to have a
perfect fit where others talk about might needing to do a little cut,
fit, weld. Anyone have the straight stuff on this? Contact me off
list if you don't want your comments public.
