Good morning.

?

Has anyone used an oil cooler on their vehicle?? I am thinking about it and wanted to know.? If so what type did you get to work?

?

My vehicle is a 1950 Willys wagon with a V8 1988 Corvette and want to get some additional cooling to the engine.

Gm made one that used an adaptor between the oil filter and the block, with hoses running up to a small radiator at the front of the vehicle. ?It was on 70s/80s ….Suburbans and blazers.

I use a universal kit that has the block adapter, cooler a dual oil filters. The cooler is mounted under the front crossmember and the filters are on the inside of the frame under the cab. After a few years of putting up with hose clamps the wrap I went to NAPA and had hoses made up with the threaded ends crimped on. I've been running them for over 15 years now and I still don't have to clean up oil spots.

I use one on the 350 in my ‘59 Willys pick up. I mounted the cooler under the front of the bed. Works great.

Have you seen an improvement with the system’s ability to regulate the engine temperature?

I did several things at once, so I’m not sure what effect the oil cooler had. I don’t have any issues with the cooler or lines and would do it again again in a heartbeat.
