I have this NOS short block that turned out to be a military model. I
pulled the tired, smoking Tornado out of my 62 wagon and stripped it
down to the block. After some careful comparisons and thought I have
determined that I can use this block with the rest of my engine parts.
I may need a couple holes machined but very minimal. I have come to the
conclusion that a military Tornado block can be used with civilian
engine parts, but not the other way around. I have searched the
archives and found a few threads that mentioned this issue but no real
answers. I am going to proceed and will keep the list updated.
