Re: 60 Ft. Crank Up Antenna Tower
开云体育Hey Sherry, Yep, just something we like to do for the local Amateur community.? We have experienced manpower with the right skill set and have developed a something of a reputation for this.? As a result we get requests from all over the area, not just from within the club.? Good to hear you guys might be interested in a tower.? Timing sounds good, as we're still working on the list so we know what we actually have and can share details. Stay tuned! Doug KG6LWE On 8/18/21 12:20 PM, Sherry Purser,

Re: 60 Ft. Crank Up Antenna Tower
开云体育Hi Terry, It's in the works, but is quite a task, and there are quite a few.? I'll send up a flare with a link when we have it up on the website. Yes, we do our best to honor our SK's by helping their families deal with their "treasures." 73, Doug KG6LWE On 8/18/21 11:06 AM, Terry wrote:

Re: 60 Ft. Crank Up Antenna Tower
开云体育Thanks for sharing Sherry.? The square tubing is rather unusual.? Free is my favorite price for everything too. No particular interest here, but thought I might let the group know that my old home club PAARA (Palo Alto Amateur Radio Association) has a tower take-down team that's been helping families of SK's for years by taking down and hauling off towers from all over the bay area. As a consequence, we have a large collection of towers of various types and sizes.? Our intention has always been to make these available to members for exactly what we paid for them.? Not a lot of folks up that way have room for towers, so the collection just keeps growing, with a couple of towers coming down and to us every year, but not many going to new homes.? If anyone here is looking for a nice tower, please contact me.? We're in the process of cataloging the inventory, and hope to have descriptions and pictures up on the website by the end of the year. Distant Repeater Interference AE6XO
Hi,
For those that monitor the repeater regularly, you have probably been hearing the repeater squelch break somewhat often and randomly as though someone is keying the repeater, but all we are hearing is noise. This morning I had an interesting conversation with Richard, AE6XO, a repeater owner in Gualala, CA, near Anchor Bay, about 190 miles north of us. He was coming into our repeater nearly full quieting. The reason it caught my attention was I was only hearing 1/2 the conversation as if he was coming through the repeater, but the other person was simplex.? Turns out, Richard's repeater, AE6XO is also 147.825 with a PL of 103.5. So why he was coming through our repeater with a PL of 100, I am not certain. But he was absolutely making to us with no problem, and I was able to make it back to him as well. I know it was going through GGF as the courtesy tones were present throughout the conversation. He says he is using a coordinated repeater pair. Maybe it was some atmospheric ducting? I don't know. I do not know if there is a configuration issue on his end, or if our receiver PL discriminator is not discriminating enough. But it is something to keep an eye on.? Cheers, Ray N6DZK |
