FYI - 75M Delta Loop NVIS Antenna Information
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAttached is a PowerPoint presentation with 4 slides that describe my homebrew 75M Delta Loop NVIS Antenna.? Because I designed it to run most efficiently at 3.975 MHz (248 foot long radiating wire element) for Texas RACES Nets, this Antenna requires a Tuner to work the higher frequency Bands.? For general 80M use, this Antenna could be designed and tuned to 3.8 MHz in the middle of the SSB portion of 80M by making the radiating wire element 259 feet long instead. ? This is the Antenna I used when I served as Net Control for the first time for last Sunday¡¯s Texas State RACES 75M HF Practice Net.? I didn¡¯t manage the time very well (the Net ran 95 minutes) due to this being my first time in the Saddle as Net Control.? However, the rest of the Net ran pretty well, and my rig ran perfectly!? I was running my Kenwood TS-2000 barefoot at 100W but a few Net participants asked if I was running a big Amplifier.? I received 20dB over S9 signal reports from Houston, Austin, Gillespie, Sherman and Levelland (west of Lubbock).? There were several more but I don¡¯t recall the locations.? The Antenna¡¯s radiating wire element is 248 feet long with a 5% longer Reflector wire approximately .15 Wavelength below it at 30¡± AGL.? The three corners of the radiating wire element were elevated to 39.4 feet AGL with three SpiderBeam 12M (39.4 feet) HD Fiberglass Masts. ? Let me know if you have any questions. ? 73, Bob ¨C KG5SQJ |
