Missouri QSO Party

The Missouri QSO Party is coming up on April 5th and 6th. The goal is to help other radio amateurs outside Missouri work as many counties as possible, and Missouri amateurs to work other states and countries. You can find all the rules at the link below. There’s a section on the website where you can register what counties and modes you plan to work on what days. Check it out! There’s already someone who’s registered to operate both CW and SSB from most of every county in southern Missouri over the two days. I need to take a closer look at the rules, but I think everyone can work from wherever they want and add our club call to their log when they submit it to create a club score (you need at least 3 submissions). It’ll definitely be a great way to make a ton of contacts that weekend! Hopefully everyone will be able to participate in one way or another!!?

The Missouri QSO Party is fast approaching, April 5th and 6th. A link to the rules is below, but I’ll touch on a couple specific items.?
?
  • We could get together and operate under the club callsign, but given the rapidly approaching date and not having another meeting before the event would make it difficult. Each operator can work their own station, using their own callsign. If you’d like to get together with another operator, you can certainly do so! When submitting your log, there is a place to add the club call sign. If 3 of us submit logs with the club call, then the cumulative points will go toward the club score.
  • Submitting a digital Cabrillo formatted log will earn 100 extra points. There is an excel document on their website that can be filled out and saved in the proper format and emailed in for the credit. You might also use logging software that has an option for the MO QSO party requirements. One such piece of software is the N3FJP software. There is a cost associated with this software, but if you’re interested in giving it a try let me know.?
  • If you plan on operating, you can go to their website and submit your plans, which includes the county you’re working from, mode of operation, and what day(s) you’re operating. This allows others trying to contact as many counties as possible to know the mode you’re using. It’s not required, but if you know you’re going to participate, I’d encourage you to submit your plans. ?
  • Unlike field day that operates all hours over the weekend, the MO QSO party run from 9am to 11pm Saturday, and 9am to 9pm Sunday.
If you’d like to participate but don’t know how or don’t have the equipment to participate, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I plan on doing something, but haven’t solidified any plans yet. We can certainly make arrangements with myself or another member to get you on the air. ?

I've signed up for Saturday and Sunday and I'm also open to coordinating with anyone who is interested.
