Being in a valley won’t help for sure. You should be able to get into the 444.425 via HT anywhere in town I believe. ?Also make sure your power is set to high.

Just checked the 146.940 and 444.425 to confirm both are working. They’re are probably your best bet with an HT from where you’re at. I’ll try to monitor this afternoon but probably won’t be

What model radio do you have? The settings pictures look correct. Make sure your squelch is set to 1 or 2…. Something low.
