Fox Hunt tomorrow (Sunday) at 2:30pm. Frequency will be 145.300Mhz. We can communicate info as needed on the 444.425 repeater, which will also make it to the 145.250 repeater. I find the 444.425 around town is pretty easily reached from a portable from within the city limits of West Plains, which happens to be where the fox will be located!

Hope everyone can join us for the fun! If you have questions or comments, please chime in!

Eric

Hamshack Hotline Update

In case you missed it, HH has simplified our numbers and the old numbers will be deactivated in under a month. We must make changes in order for our HH phones to continue working.

Following is the notice from HH:

We are writing to you to let you know that Hamshack Hotline is migrating away from 10-digit extension numbers and replacing them with 7-digit extension numbers.

This means that all existing 10-digit extensions are being converted to 7-digits.

For example, if your current extension number is '6100000125', your new extension number will be '6100125'.

Your new 7-digit extension number has already been created on the HHUS server and is ready for use!

?

Here is what you will need to do:

For users that have an IAX2 trunk extension:

You will need to modify your setup, and remove three of the zeros from the middle of your 10-digit USERNAME so it becomes a 7-digit number.

:

?

For users with a hard phone:

In order to use your new extension, you will need to re-provision your phone.

:

Please remember that re-provisioning your phone will erase any manual changes and customization you have done. So you may have to re-enter custom changes after re-provisioning.

For those who are savvy enough, you can skip auto-provisioning and go into your phones UI, locate your extension number field, and remove three of the zeros from the middle of your 10-digit extension number, making it a 7-digit number and then save those settings. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE PASSWORD FIELD.

?

For all users:

You will have 30 days to change over to your new 7-digit extension number.

We will deactivate all 10-digit extensions on the HHUS server 30 days from today.

Phone book and map updates have already been made.

We truly hope the new 7-digit numbers will be easier to remember and make using Hamshack Hotline more enjoyable.

Should you still have any questions please login to your Help-Desk account and create a General Inquiry service ticket.

?

Thank you,

?

The Hamshack Hotline Team

ARRL Systems Service Disruption
Updated 5/29/2024

This update includes information about the status of several services as we continue to respond to a serious incident involving access to our network and systems.

The ARRL Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (ARRL VEC) has resumed the processing of Amateur Radio License applications with the FCC. A more comprehensive update on the status of ARRL VEC services is available here.

There has been no interruption to visitor operating at W1AW, the Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Station. The station resumed voice bulletins on Thursday, May 23. All other scheduled transmissions, including Morse code practice, and code and digital bulletins, will resume on Thursday, May 30. Please refer to the regular operating schedule at www.arrl.org/w1aw-operating-schedule.

After last week's distribution of the ARRL Letter, our e-newsletter service has resumed. Current editions of ARRL Club News and The ARES? Letter have also been distributed.

ARRL Store orders have resumed shipping. Orders are being fulfilled from earliest order dates to the latest. Please allow additional time for our processing.

There has been no disruption to the @arrl.net email forwarding service, though forwarding email addresses and aliases cannot be modified at this time.

Our telephone system is unavailable at this time.

We appreciate your patience as we continue working on restoring access to affected systems and services.

This story will be updated with new developments.
