Re: ARES Meeting

Sorry I missed the meeting. Trying to get things out for spring cleanup. Kevin said there was discussion about search dogs for the eclipse. What questions do you have about them or what needs might there need to be? Call me at 417-293-5574 Mike or you can text me as I don't always answer my phone with all the spam calls, I get. Then I can call you back.?

Kit Building Links

At the meeting Tuesday night, we discussed kit building. The event committee is going to schedule a day in the near future that we can get together and have fun building. Below are links to the pages we discussed.... I'm sure there are many more. If you want to participate, you purchase the kit and bring it with you.

Net Tonight!!!!

Hey... I was about to forget that we're supposed to have a net on Thursday nights now!! The majority of the weather should be thru the area by 7pm, so I'll run net control since I didn't get any volunteers. If you can make it, please do! Stay safe.

Severe Weather TODAY

Heads-up: The sunny skies are nice but deceptive today. That extra sunshine is warming our area ahead of the weather rolling in and potentially increasing instability. Supercell development is increasing in likelihood along with hail, wind, and tornadoes. We will probably see a Tornado Watch issued soon.

Re: Ground Rods

Thanks for the input. When I'm ready to sink those rods, I'll be glad to borrow that bit, Eric. Bill has an SDS I can borrow. So, I should be all good except for sourcing the rods. I'll probably check Hirsch tonight and see what they have in stock.

Thanks all.?

Re: New Net Schedule

Any volunteers to run the ARES net control this Thursday night at 7pm? Bill was scheduled for next week, so we’ll leave that in place. Also need a volunteer for the simplex net next Tuesday at 7pm??

Re: Ground Rods

I think was about 35.00, hirsch has less expensive but are aluminum?

Re: Ground Rods

If you have access to a large SDS Hammer drill and a bit like the one at the link below, ground rods are a whole lot easier!! I have a bit you can borrow but no longer have access to a big hammer drill.

Re: Ground Rods

I just purchased a 6 foot at tractor supply solid copper, use fence post driver to drive
