Being in a valley won¡¯t help for sure. You should be able to get into the 444.425 via HT anywhere in town I believe. ?Also make sure your power is set to high.

What model radio do you have? The settings pictures look correct. Make sure your squelch is set to 1 or 2¡­. Something low.
