Farmers Market Saturday
I failed to mention at the meeting last night that we'd be set up at the Farmers Market this Saturday from 9am - 1pm.? Located at the Endurance Church parking lot in West Plains. I hope everyone can come out and enjoy the day putting amateur radio on display and inviting others to join us.

Kit Building!
Our Kit Build get together is coming up in just over a week. If you are planning on joining in on the fun, you need to get your kit ordered ASAP if you haven't done so already! Several websites were suggested during last night's club meeting. Below I am listing a few ideas for kits based on low-cost and ease of assembly. You are welcome to pick one of these or explore the sites and pick something else.

Club Meeting Tonight!
Have you ever wondered if your radio is transmitting a clean signal? Join us at the club meeting tonight and bring a radio with you. We’ll hook it up to a spectrum analyzer and see how clean the signal is! 6pm at the Howell Count Emergency Operations Center (Basement of the Howell County Health Department). See you tonight!?

Re: New Ham Question
开云体育I surely appreciate your kindness. ?I look forward to meeting you all tomorrow. ?I’ll bring it into town today and try from higher ground. ?I am in a little valley that’s fairly wooded.

Re: New Ham Question
Just checked the 146.940 and 444.425 to confirm both are working. They’re are probably your best bet with an HT from where you’re at. I’ll try to monitor this afternoon but probably won’t be in the area. I’m sure others will be monitoring if you get it figured out and throw your callsign out.?

Re: New Ham Question
开云体育I have an Explorer QRZ-1 HT from the JumpStart program for newly licensed hams. ?Squelch was preset to 5, I’ve lowered to 2 at your suggestion. ?When I press the MONI button to suppress the squelch I do hear the static but nothing when I press PTT. ?The same for all the repeaters I’ve programmed.

Re: New Ham Question
What all repeaters do you have programmed? If you hold the PTT button for just a second and release it, do you hear the repeater? It should stay open for another half a second or so then Nunley. If you’re not hearing that, make sure your offset is correct and CTCSS tone is correct.? ? |
New Ham Question
Good morning, all! I am a new ham with a new HT. I have not yet made a contact but not for lack of trying. I have 5 of our local repeaters programmed into my HT but thus far have heard nothing but what I believe is CW. Is anyone available to review these settings and tell me if I’ve made an error? Thank you so much! I look forward to interacting with all of you!
