Awesome contact with Matt (KF0RIG) today from South Park (W0C/SP-100) to Montrose, CO on 40 meters SSB. ?I could not hear him on any other band, at all, just the hunters. ?

A great real-life lesson for me today which will definitely affect my band choice and antenna selection on summits and renew my interest in hunting W0C summits when on 40 meters. ?That was fun!

I too will be packing my 40m EFHW more often.? I worked my FT-891 on 80 watts today which kind of felt like cheating.?

30m, 40m and 60m are great for working the locals. You can even draw out the AZ and NM chasers with that NVIS bounce.
