Comments are given below under VOIP Hurricane Net Management Team VOIP Hurricane Net Management Team Member (3): KD1CY>Rob, New Bedford, MA Director of Operations, VoIP Hurricane Net provided a brief report on local conditions warranting SKYWARN activations in his area of operations (Norton/Boston) to include two 2 tornado warnings (later resulting in an EF-0 and an EF-1) along with flash flooding in parts of their CWA. Rob then gave the following tropical updates:
KC5FM>Lloyd, Arkansas City, KS, reported that 14.345 MHz USB is in use for the Pacific Area Net and the ARRL has requested all amateur stations not directly involved with AuxComm or EmComm activities regarding the Maui, Hawaiian fire disaster to avoid using 7.088 MHz (LSB is in use for CW traffic and USB in use for WinLink traffic). SKYWARN Coordinators/Liaisons (4): N2JWX>Marshall, Parlin, NJ reported there were currently several Severe Thunderstorm Watches in effect until 12 AM EDT for Northern and Central New Jersey KO4UMQ>Woody, Baxter, KY, ARES EC, and SKYWARN Coordinator for Harlan County KY reported: partly cloudy skies and a calm wind. T: 70.8F; Td: 68.3F H: 97%. B: 29.95 inHg and steady. The AQI was 29 or Good. The daytime high temperature was 91F from a low temperature of 67F. Rainfall received since 12 AM was 0.40 inches. The 7-day total was 3.04 inches, the MTD total for August was 3.77 inches, and the YTD: 34.78 inches. International/OCONUS Stations (2): NP3OD>Francisco, San Juan, PR reported few clouds with an East wind at 2 MPH. The temperature was 82.6F, Humidity 85% with the Barometer at 30.03 inHg. Total rainfall received since midnight: 0.41 inches. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to around 78F and tomorrow (Sunday) the weather is expected to have a chance for showers in otherwise clear skies.
